‘There Is a Bomb on the Flight’: Panic After Bomb Threat to Lucknow-Bengaluru IndiGo Flight (X)
New Delhi: There was panic on Wednesday after receiving a bomb threat in IndiGo flight 6E231 going from Lucknow to Bengaluru. According to sources, the crew received information about the threat during the final approach of the plane at Bengaluru airport. After this the pilot and crew took necessary steps as per safety protocol. The plane landed safely at Bengaluru airport at around 9:40 am.
Airport authorities and relevant security agencies were informed about the bomb threat immediately after the plane landed safely. After this the plane was taken for security check. Officials began searching the aircraft as per the standard operating procedure (SOP).
Security agencies are also checking parts inside the plane as well as passengers' luggage and other sensitive areas. After the threat, security arrangements have been increased at the airport. So far, there has been no confirmation of any explosive object being found in the plane.
According to sources, in the initial investigation it is suspected that the threat was fake i.e. a hoax. However, the security agencies are not taking it lightly and all necessary precautions are being taken until a complete investigation is conducted. What was the source of the threat and through what medium was it given are also being investigated.
After the bomb threat, security agencies at the airport have increased checking and surveillance as a precautionary measure. The authorities have appealed to the passengers to immediately inform the security personnel about any suspicious object or activity. The aircraft is likely to be cleared for further flight only after the investigation is completed.
Flight 6E231 lands safely at Bengaluru Airport. At present, the security check of the aircraft and its associated items is going on. Only after the detailed investigation by the authorities is completed will it be clear whether the threat was real or fake.
